Tony Frederickson
Managing Director | San Francisco
As a 35-year executive leader in the defense technology industry, with extensive, hands-on experience leading corporate acquisitions, Tony understands the priorities of both sellers and buyers as well as the pitfalls for each in the typical (non-Sniper Process) acquisition process.
Tony most recently served as CEO of Defense Group Inc, a privately-held, technically-rich firm at the forefront of worldwide, multilingual data collection and analysis in support of the U.S. national intelligence, cyber warfare and law-enforcement communities. He was responsible for restructuring the company, executing an acquisition and divesting two operating units to then achieve a high-multiple sale of the core “pure play” intelligence services unit in September 2017.
He also served in C-suite roles with public (Titan Corporation), private equity-held (Schafer Corporation), and professional partnership (Sage Management) organizations. In each case, he has led buy-side acquisition campaigns to better enable organic growth and eventually achieve a high-value exit for equity holders. As President of the Applied Technologies Sector of the Titan Corporation, he oversaw top-line growth from $6 million to $300+ million in annual sales in a seven-year period, while effectively integrating the operations of three acquired companies totaling $90 million in sales. Upon Titan’s successful $2.6 billion sale to L-3 Communications, Tony was designated President of the 10,000+ employee L-3 Titan Group to lead it through the integration with its new parent.
Tony began his career supporting investigation of aircraft in-flight structural failures. He also served 6 years as a civil servant with the Department of Defense and currently holds a Top-Secret clearance.
Tony earned BS and MS degrees in engineering from UCLA. He resides in the San Francisco bay area and is an avid cyclist and wine country explorer.
